For Immediate Release:

Table Top Vacuum Formers for Package Designers and Engineers.

Easily and economically create in-house prototypes.

Kingston, NY, USA - June 11, 2001 - The Kingston Vacuum Works introduces table-top vacuum formers for inventors, package designers, modelers and engineers. Vacuum forming, the process of drawing warm plastic over the contours of a shape, allows designers to create prototypes, blister packages, short-run castings, markers, sign faces and display plaques. Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum formers make the process quick, easy and affordable.

Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum formers prices start at $98.00 and come with a 14 day money back guarantee. Each model comes with complete illustrated instructions and generous amounts of white styrene and clear acetate butyrate. The units are within reach of most any budget because the designer’s shop provides the vacuum source — a shop vac or home vacuum cleaner — and the heat source — a conventional kitchen oven or a heat gun.

Vacuum forming allows designers to make a plastic copy of any pattern. Patterns can be made out of basswood, plywood, self-hardening or baked clays, acrylic, metal and often, in the case of blister packages, out of the product to be packaged! The designer warms a sheet of plastic in a conventional kitchen oven for about 90 seconds. This makes the plastic highly pliable. The warmed plastic is placed over the pattern on a Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum former. Then, a shop vac or a home vacuum cleaner provides the pull on the plastic. The process is so straightforward that a Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum former can be used immediately after opening the box.

Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum formers are available in four models: the Kingston Micro with a working surface of 4x6", The Kingston Junior with a working surface of 6x8", the Kingston Mono with a working surface of 8x10" and the Zeppelin Master with a working surface of 11x16".

The units can be ordered by phone, toll free at 877-560-6398, and securely on line at www.warmplastic.com. Questions about the vacuum formers will also be answered by calling the toll free number or by e-mailing questions to mailroom@warmplastic.com. The Kingston Vacuum Works accepts MasterCard, Visa, the Discover Card, American Express, checks and money orders.

The Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum formers were created by Eliot R. Brown, a technical illustrator and dedicated modeler. After many failed attempts using a small, commercially produced vacuum former and the vacuum formers he built following the "how to" instructions in modeling magazines articles, he painstakingly researched vacuum forming devices made by professional modelers. Armed with new information, he designed what is now the Kingston Mono. The success he then enjoyed vacuum forming his projects made him realize that others would appreciate the ease of economical, in-house, table-top vacuum forming.

Kingston Vacuum Works vacuum formers can be used by modelers, sample product makers, point-of-purchase display designers, candy mold makers, mask makers, toy makers, diorama makers, architectural modelers and puppet makers.
